Barriers, opportunities and the way
forward for OER

OERs are teaching and learning materials that are freely available online for everybody to use.
Educational materials in OER are available both for teachers and students.
· OER creates opportunities for personal learning
· helpful to teachers· create opportunities for personal learning
· OER make education more convenient.
· a cost-efficient method of improving the quality of teaching and learning while at the same time reducing costs imposed on students related to the purchase of expensive commercial textbooks and learning materials
However one should not forget that creators of the materials are not rewarded for their effort. We must give the original author credit for his work.
